Mother To Mother Doula Service
Gainesville, Virginia | (866) 421-2248

I've lived in the Northern Virginia area for the majority of my life.  I have more than 4 years of experience as a doula and received my certification through DONA.

I am a mom of 6 kids to which I have had difficult pregnancies.  All preterm births except for one born 15 minutes into the 37th week.  I have started my business, my mission!, to help moms & dads have the best birth experience possible.

Conception through birth is one of life's greatest miracles, and helping women have a memorable experience is important to me.

The Importance of a Doula

Labor Support

I offer help and advice with comfort measures such as breathing, relaxation, movement, positioning, counter-pressure, hot/cold compresses and massage.  I can help assist you with gathering information about the progress of labor to make sure you have the information you need to make informed decisions.  I also serve as an advocate for your needs with the medical staff.  My most critical role is providing continuous emotional reassurance and comfort!

Choosing a Doula

It is very important that you and your partner are comfortable with my role in your birth.  I offer free consultations, and meet with clients at least once before labor to become acquainted, to explore and discuss priorities, fears or concerns, and to help develop a Birth Plan.  After the initial meeting, we will then schedule a prenatal conference.

Prenatal Conference

At the prenatal conference, we review your Birth Plan and discuss your preferences reguarding the baby's birth.  My role is to help you have the most satisfying birth experience possible.  I will ask about your knowledge of the birth process, and can provide information and education as needed.

I will want to know your own personal ways of coping with pain, fatigue and difficult situations.  Another important issue is to discuss the roles of others who may be attending the birth.
